Electric Vehicle (EV) Toolkit

Welcome to the EV toolkit. On these pages, you will find resources that have been expertly curated and annotated to assist you in navigating key topics related to EVs. Vehicle electrification is a promising pathway to achieving clean energy transitions in the transport sector at-scale. The EV toolkit offers information and guidance materials to support the safe, effective, and accelerated deployment of EVs.

Background and Context

Low-cost renewable energy is increasingly powering the electricity sectors of developing countries worldwide. Nonetheless, for countries to fulfill their greenhouse gas emissions targets, local air quality goals, and other environmental and mobility objectives, the transport sector will require some form of transformation. Vehicle electrification is an emerging, promising pathway to achieving clean, resilient energy transitions in the transport sector at-scale. As a cross-cutting technology, EVs uniquely bridge the transport and power sectors.

What is the EV toolkit?

The EV toolkit offers information and guidance materials to support developing countries in addressing barriers to safe, effective, economical, and accelerated deployment of EVs. Greening the Grid also facilitates direct technical assistance tailored to the unique transport system characteristics and priorities of each partner country.

The EV toolkit is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
